Get Ready for Chess Season

The Scholastic Chess Season Is About to Take Off!

Championship Chess is in Nashville at the final big scholastic tournament of the year, the National K-12 Grade Championships. Gaylord’s is brightly lit for the holidays—from fountains that dance to miniature hot air balloons that float above the crowd. Our Players’ Room is also abuzz with family excitement and chess analysis, tips and prep.

But, it’s not too early to look forward to the new year of scholastic chess. January starts it off with the 16th Annual MLK Tournament on the 16th. Then, on February 4, the most important Georgia Scholastic for Atlanta Area schools, the 2017 Metro Atlanta K-8 Team State Qualifier.

Next, follow this up with one of our best Signature Events: The 4th Annual Winter Blast on March 4. This is the best place to get more team practice before the 2017 Georgia K-8 State Team Championship on March 25.

All of these great tournaments will be even more exciting because Championship Chess Coaches will be onsite for game analysis and prep.

‘Tis the season—stay warm, have great holidays, and get ready for the Scholastic Chess Season!
