Paul Morphy defeats the Philidor Defense

This is one of Championship Chess Coach Chris Wiley's favorite games. And, it was also one of Bobby Fisher’s favorites as well.


The American Chess Master Paul Morphy played this game in 1858 at an opera house in Paris against the Duke of Brunswick and Count Isouard. Morphy play Black and the Duke and Count played Black and the Philidor Defense.
